Italian Anise Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter 3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp anise extract
3 tsps baking power
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 extra large egg OR 2-3 small eggs

Directions:

Cream butter, sugar and anise. Add dry ingredients until blended VERY well then add egg(s) one at a time as needed until dough forms. (not too dry not wet) Roll 
into 1-inch balls (about one flat tablespoon). Bake on parchment paper over cookie sheet at 350 degrees 
for 15 minutes.

Icing:
2 cups powdered sugar, 1 TBL lemon juice and 1 TBL 
milk .. stir in till smooth and frost the top of cool cookies then dip gentle in nonpareil sprinkles right away! Makes about 24 cookies {Submitted by Vicki, Canton, OH}
